What is an NFT?
NFT stands for ‘Non Fungible Token’, but what does that mean? Well, it helps to first understand what a ‘Fungible Token’ is. If we think of it in terms of money: a 100 dollar bill can be swapped for five 20 dollar bills and still hold the same value, which means a 100 dollar bill is a fungible token.
If this 100 dollar bill is signed by Banksy, it becomes totally unique and no longer simply worth five 20 dollar bills. It's become Non-Fungible
Hidden within NFT art is a totally unique and non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a digital ledger that uses blockchain technology to establish proof of ownership and uniqueness. NFTs are collectable digital pieces of art that hold value, just like how physical art holds value, so does NFT art.
NFT art are unique pieces of digital art, secured with use of blockchain technology and which are generally bought and traded with cryptocurrency.
